COMMISSIONS
Darren is always available for private commission work and usually has a waiting list such is the popularity of getting your very own unique Hilltown painting.
The commission process is very simple as explained below.
STAGE 1 - THE CHAT
Firstly an initial chat over the phone, email, social media or in person to gather information regards picture content will take place to create an idea of what customer is requiring. info such as daytime scene, nightime scene, painting size and format etc.
If customer is wanting to go ahead with a commission I would request a £200 deposit at this stage for all paintings regardless of picture size.
STAGE 2 - THE SKETCH
After the initial chat a black and white sketch is produced alongside a proposed colour palette for the painting. This sketch can be approved or amended to achieve the desired look for the customer.
STAGE 3 - THE PAINTING
As the painting develops you can watch it progress via Darren's Facebook page where there are regular updates of what is going on in the studio and what is on the easel. you can choose not to see progress also.
STAGE 4 - THE HANDOVER
Once the painting is finished it will be varnished and framed. The remaining balance would be payable at this point. If the customer is local to the studio in Whitley Bay it will be hand delivered by Darren, otherwise it will be couriered (a small extra charge will be incurred for this).
